Bakery branding

Design outcomes: logo design, mini style guide

Client: Grant’s Bakery

When a local Inverleigh family decided to pivot into their new passion of sourdough bread baking, they wanted to develop a logo for the initial branding applications of their new wholesale business. The brief was to develop a logo that incorporated earthy tones with an organic, hand-crafted feel and featured a minimalist illustration style.

The logo is based on the traditional scoring technique used on the famous miche loaf – well known among sourdough connoisseurs. This distinctive mark sparks curiosity when used alone without the name (as on the van) and has made Grant’s Bakery easily recognisable to wholesale customers. Now, the general public is getting to know the brand, with the logo displayed throughout a newly opened retail shop.
