Intimate partner violence infographics
Design outcomes: infographic posters
Client: ANROWS (Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety)
These infographics were for a summary of a study conducted by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare for ANROWS. The study produced estimates of the burden of disease of intimate partner violence and its summary needed to be presented in a style readily understood by an informed lay audience.
The burden of disease is a calculation of health loss that takes into account years of life lost due to premature death as well as lost days due to illness. The infographics explained how this ‘burden’ is calculated using data on premature death and illness from hundreds of health conditions, as well as showing the prevalence of intimate partner violence for all Australian women and the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous women.
